Conditions treated with a transplant

A transplant may be recommended for these conditions. Your specialist confirms whether it suits your case.

Transplant and CAR-T options

The right type depends on your condition and on who can donate. HLA tissue typing tells us which options are open to you.

Autologous transplant

Your own stem cells are collected, stored and returned after high-dose treatment. Often used for myeloma and lymphoma.

Matched sibling donor

Stem cells from a brother or sister whose tissue type matches yours.

Half-matched family donor

A haploidentical transplant lets a parent, child or sibling donate when no full match is available.

Unrelated donor

A matched donor found through stem cell registries, when no family member matches.

CAR-T cell therapy

For certain blood cancers, such as some leukaemias, lymphomas and myeloma. Your own immune cells are modified to find and attack the cancer. Available at selected centres when your specialist recommends it.

Donor testing

HLA typing for family members. It can often be done in your home country before you travel.

Long-stay support

An apartment near the hospital, help with meals and transport, and one coordinator through recovery.

Yes, at selected centres. CAR-T is used for certain blood cancers, often when other treatments have not worked. A specialist reviews your reports to confirm whether you are eligible, and we explain where it is available and how long you would need to stay.

A brother or sister whose tissue type matches is often the first choice. If there is no full match, a half-matched family member or an unrelated registry donor may be possible. HLA typing tells us who can donate.

Often, yes. HLA typing can usually be done at a laboratory in your home country and the results shared with the transplant team. We tell you which tests are needed.

It depends on the type of transplant. A transplant using your own cells usually means four to six weeks away from home, and a donor transplant usually two to three months. Your written plan confirms the stay.

Yes. We arrange medical visa letters for the donor and a companion, and accommodation near the hospital for everyone.

Yes. Once your reports are reviewed, we explain the options in each country, including waiting time, cost and travel, and you decide.

Costs depend on the type of transplant, the donor, the hospital and how long you stay, so we don't publish fixed prices. You receive a written estimate before you decide.
